Task batching
What it means
Task batching is grouping similar tasks and doing them in one session instead of scattering them across the day: all calls in one slot, all errands in one trip, email at two fixed times. Every switch between different kinds of work costs a little time and attention; batching pays that cost once instead of ten times.
How to use it
Look for tasks on your list that share a tool, a place or a state of mind. Give each batch a recurring slot, such as calls on Monday afternoon or errands on Saturday morning. During the week, capture new small tasks and let them wait for their batch.
Try it: what you write, what LifeOS does
- “every monday at 2pm phone calls and admin” → A weekly slot every Monday at 14:00 where the small calls and paperwork of the week get done together.
