Eat the frog
What it means
Eat the frog is the advice to tackle your biggest, least pleasant important task at the start of the day, before email and small jobs use up your energy. The phrase comes from a saying often attributed to Mark Twain: if you eat a live frog first thing in the morning, nothing worse can happen to you for the rest of the day.
How to use it
Choose tomorrow's frog the evening before, so you do not spend the morning deciding. Make it concrete (draft the first page, not work on the proposal) and give it the first block of your day. If your energy peaks later, eat the frog at your peak: the principle is first priority, not first hour.
Try it: what you write, what LifeOS does
- “tomorrow at 9am draft the first page of the proposal” → An appointment tomorrow at 9:00, first in your plan, with a reminder so the frog does not wait until the afternoon.
