Time-blocking
What it means
Time-blocking is a planning method where you split the day into blocks and give each block a single job: the report from 9 to 11, email from 11 to 11:30, errands after lunch. A to-do list tells you what to do; a time-blocked day also tells you when, and it quietly exposes the fact that you have more tasks than hours.
How to use it
Start small: block only the two or three things that matter most today and leave the rest of the day open. Add a short buffer after each block, because tasks run over. When a block slips, move it to a new slot instead of deleting it, so the work still has a home.
Try it: what you write, what LifeOS does
- “every day at 9am writing block” → A recurring daily block at 9:00: it appears in your plan and a nudge arrives when it is time to start.
