Sleep debt
What it means
Sleep debt is the running total of sleep you have missed compared with what your body needs. Losing an hour a night for a week adds up to almost a full night. It shows up as poor focus, irritability and cravings, and a long lie-in on Saturday only partly pays it back while shifting your body clock later.
How to use it
Pay it back slowly: go to bed 20 to 30 minutes earlier for a few weeks rather than sleeping in. Keep a steady wake time and plan your day backwards from the sleep you need.
Try it: what you write, what LifeOS does
- “I go to bed at 10:30pm” → Sets your bedtime at 22:30, which the plan uses to place dinner and protect your sleep.
