Digital detox
What it means
A digital detox is a deliberate period away from digital devices, or from specific parts of them such as social media, news or messaging. It can last a whole weekend or just an hour every evening. The aim is to break the habit of checking automatically, win back attention and sleep better, then return with more deliberate habits.
How to use it
Small and regular beats big and rare. Choose a fixed daily window, such as after dinner, and make it easy: the phone charging outside the bedroom, apps logged out, a book on the pillow. Let people know when you are offline.
Try it: what you write, what LifeOS does
- “every day at 8:30pm phone away” → A daily reminder at 20:30 that marks the start of your screen-free evening.
