Spaced repetition
What it means
Spaced repetition is a learning technique in which you review information at increasing intervals: after a day, then three days, a week, two weeks. Each review comes just as you are about to forget, which strengthens the memory far more than rereading everything the night before. It is the idea behind flashcard apps and works well for languages, exams and any factual material.
How to use it
Short daily sessions beat long weekly ones. Fix a time, for example 15 minutes after breakfast or on the commute, and review what is due before adding anything new.
Try it: what you write, what LifeOS does
- “every day at 8:15am 15 minutes of Spanish flashcards” → A daily reminder at 8:15, so reviews happen every day instead of in one cram before the exam.
