Most important task (MIT)
What it means
A most important task, or MIT, is one of the one to three tasks you choose each day because finishing them would make the day worthwhile, whatever else happens. The rest of the list becomes optional. Limiting the number forces a real choice and gives you an instant answer to the question of what to do next.
How to use it
Choose your MITs the evening before or first thing in the morning, put them at the top of the plan and schedule the first one early. At least one should move a bigger goal forward, not just clear a deadline.
Try it: what you write, what LifeOS does
- “tomorrow at 8:30am finish the budget slides” → Your MIT becomes the first appointment of tomorrow's plan, at 8:30, with a nudge.
